Job summary

The St. Louis Area Foodbank is seeking a Facilities Supervisor to oversee maintenance, safety, and efficiency of our warehouse and offices.

This role leads the facilities team, coordinates vendor work, and ensures compliance with OSHA and food safety standards. You will monitor maintenance logs, manage multiple projects, and support the Operations team in a fast-paced nonprofit environment on-site Monday through Friday, with occasional evenings or weekends.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills and critical thinking required.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to establish and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Prior non-profit experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Supervises facilities team members, vendors, and contractors performing repairs.
• Maintains facility including warehouse, docking areas, and offices; schedules preventive maintenance.
• Monitors safety program implementation and coordinates training efforts.
• Ensures compliance with OSHA, Feeding America, AIB, USDA, and local/state regulations.
• Repairs or reports building and equipment problems; performs basic construction tasks.
• Works with staff to maintain food safety and sanitary conditions.
• Operates forklifts and pallet jacks safely; enforces safe work practices.
• Provides coverage for the Facilities Manager and supports the Operations team.
