Job summary

Temple Baptist Church is seeking a part-time Facilities Custodian / Operations Director to maintain cleanliness, safety, and readiness of all church facilities. The role blends hands-on custodial work with light operational oversight and reports to Senior Pastor and Personnel Committee.

Weekly expectations include 12–20 hours with more for events. Prior custodial experience and reliability are valued; responsibilities span sanctuary care, building operations, grounds, and event support.

Qualifications

• Experience in custodial or facility care preferred.
• Ability to perform minor repairs and troubleshoot simple issues.
• Physical ability to lift 40–50 lbs and use cleaning equipment.
• Reliable and trustworthy with keys and access.
• Good teamwork and communication with staff and volunteers.
• Respect for church values and worship environment.

Responsibilities

• Facilities Cleaning & Custodial Care: clean sanctuary, restrooms, classrooms, gym, and manage trash.
• Building Operations & Oversight: readiness for services, light maintenance, HVAC checks, safety & security, vendor coordination.
• Grounds & Exterior Care: entryway upkeep, seasonal tasks, event setup.
• Event & Ministry Support: room setup, worship readiness, post-event resets.
