Job summary

SpaceX, Bastrop, TX, is building a large solar cell manufacturing facility to power SpaceX operations. We seek an experienced Facilities Specialist to manage and coordinate service contracts for maintenance of SpaceX facilities and support equipment.

You will interact with tradesmen, contractors and officials, oversee HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and groundskeeping, and drive continuous improvement while ensuring safety and SpaceX standards. Evening/weekend on-call may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• 3+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, operations, or coordination.

Responsibilities

• Manage, coordinate, and liaison for multiple service contracts (janitorial, DI water systems, pest control, fuel distribution, landscaping, waste management).
• Partner with Purchasing on the RFP/bid process for multiple service contracts.
• Coordinate operational schedules for vendors to keep SpaceX operations running.
• Work with suppliers to increase efficiency in service delivery.
• Ensure vendors meet SpaceX standards while delivering services, materials, and craftsmanship on time.
• Maintain service contract workflow and vendor support for SpaceX operations.
• Interact with tradesmen, contractors and building officials to coordinate and execute maintenance repair of facilities support equipment.
• Direct system repairs of facilities, HVAC equipment, electrical systems, fire protection, water and plumbing infrastructure, paint, and grounds keeping.
• Coordinate and facilitate furniture requests to align with site standards.
• Manage fleet vehicle requests, insurance, tags, and maintenance.

Education

To make this possible, we are standing up one of the largest solar cell manufacturing facilities in the world. We are seeking an experienced Facilities Specialist to manage and coordinate multiple service contracts for maintenance of SpaceX facilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage, coordinate, and act as the liaison for multiple service contracts such as janitorial, DI water systems, pest control, fuel distribution, landscaping, waste management, and related areas
• Partner with Purchasing on the RFP/bid process for multiple service contracts
• Coordinate operational schedules for vendors to keep SpaceX operations running
• Work with suppliers to increase efficiency in service delivery
• Ensure vendors meet SpaceX standards while delivering promised services, materials, and craftsmanship in the agreed timeframe
• Manage the traffic of operational requests and follow through completing of tasks that require support from vendors SpaceX engages in continued service contract
• Interact with tradesman, contractors and building officials to coordinate and execute maintenance repair of facilities support equipment
• Direct system repairs of facilities, HVAC equipment, electrical systems, fire protection, water and plumbing infrastructure, paint, and grounds keeping
• Coordinate and facilitate furniture requests to align with site standards
• Manage fleet vehicle requests, insurance, tags, and maintenance

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate
• 3+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, operations, or coordination

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Facilities Management Professional (FMP), Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification
• Experiencing organizing work with multiple trades
• Degree in architecture, engineering, project management, construction management, or related field
• Organized and self-driven; capable of working independently with little direction
• Ability to drive continuous improvement through innovation and creativity

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and provide 24x7 on-call support in emergency situations
• Comfortable managing several projects at once and adjusting quickly when strategic priorities change
