THE OPPORTUNITY

The Facilities Specialist maintains restaurants through preventative maintenance on all aspects of the restaurant.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

In addition to following Chipotle’s policies and procedures, principal accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Assisting the Facilities Manager by supervising facility aspects of restaurant management at the market level
  2. Performing facility maintenance and repair through monthly site visits and analysis of restaurants
  3. Formulating preventative maintenance schedules for the safe, efficient, and effective operation of restaurant facilities, including cooking equipment, HVAC systems, sinks, plumbing, electrical circuits, and refrigeration units
  4. Carrying out procedures in case facilities cease functioning, malfunction, or pose health and safety threats
  5. Training managers, crew, and other staff on managing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing restaurant facilities; assessing additional training needs
  6. Ensuring staff correctly follow maintenance practices and procedures
  7. Conducting maintenance and repair seminars individually or in groups
  8. Providing maintenance visit recaps to the Operations Team and Regional Facility Manager, highlighting strengths and opportunities
  9. Identifying issues contributing to higher M & R costs or capital reinvestment costs and communicating these to relevant managers
  10. Guiding restaurants on maintaining and updating facility records
  11. Performing equipment and building repairs regularly, including emergencies and scheduled visits
  12. Conducting new store turnover, 90-day, and one-year inspections with contractors and teams
  13. Serving as liaison with landlords, contractors, and vendors for repairs
  14. Assisting the Operations Team in investigating and escalating facility issues
  15. Representing facilities at management meetings and communicating back to relevant managers
  16. Supporting regional initiatives and needs with the Development Department
  17. Assisting in communicating contractor deficiencies for re-investment or repair projects
  18. Following all Development Department guidelines
  19. Completing other duties as needed for projects or business issues

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TABLE

+ Strong trade knowledge in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, cooking equipment, appliances, and HVAC/refrigeration

+ Knowledge of safety regulations for facilities

+ Ability to manage multiple schedules and plan work efficiently

+ Effective communication and training skills

+ Valid Motor Vehicle Report for travel between restaurants

+ Responsible for safe driving according to law

+ B.A./B.S. in a related field or equivalent education and experience, with at least 2 years of training or experience in facility repair and maintenance

PAY TRANSPARENCY

A reasonable estimate of the current base hourly range is $22.11–$27.89. You may also be eligible for bonuses and equity awards based on performance.
