Job Summary

Work closely with the Facilities Lead Specialist in day-to-day maintenance, setup, and custodial tasks. Responsibilities include maintaining the overall appearance and cleanliness of the James River Church North Campus.

  • Complete all assigned daily and weekly checklists and reports as directed by the Multi-site Facilities Lead Specialist.
  • Maintain quality to ensure a high level of cleanliness throughout the building.
  • Receive and track work orders.
  • Measure, monitor, analyze, and implement actions necessary to meet goals and drive continual improvement.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned or required.

Description

Work closely with the Facilities Lead Specialist in day-to-day maintenance, setup, and custodial tasks. Responsibilities include maintaining the overall appearance and cleanliness of the James River Church North Campus.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties

  • Implement actions and execute processes necessary to meet goals and promote continual improvement.
  • Complete all assigned daily and weekly checklists and reports as directed by the Multi-site Facilities Lead Specialist.
  • Maintain quality to ensure a high level of cleanliness throughout the building.
  • Receive and track work orders.
  • Measure, monitor, analyze, and implement actions necessary to meet goals and drive continual improvement.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned or required.

Building & Grounds

  • Ability to work outside for extended periods in all seasons for landscaping, flower care, and snow removal.
  • Assist with HVAC scheduling, monitoring, and adjustments.
  • Oversee locking and arming the building when necessary.

Equipment & Supplies

  • Keep work areas and equipment related to custodial and maintenance organized, clean, maintained, and repaired.
  • Responsible for maintaining, organizing, and cleaning custodial and maintenance equipment, supplies, and other work areas as directed.
  • Perform routine maintenance of all buildings, grounds, church-owned vehicles, and related equipment, systems, and supplies.
  • Have basic knowledge of operation and maintenance of custodial equipment.

Events & Vendors

  • Support event setup and teardown, including large special events, as scheduled and directed.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the Church Calendar.
  • Assist in ordering and maintaining inventory of custodial supplies.

Requirements

Job Requirements

  • Working knowledge of two or more of the following: HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, General Construction, Blueprints, painting, landscaping, and Irrigation Systems.
  • At least one year of experience in maintenance, custodial care, or building setup.
  • Availability to be on call for emergency breakdowns during Sunday & Wednesday services.
  • Shift availability from 6 am to 9 pm, 7 days a week, with schedule provided in advance.
  • Willingness to work extra hours for special or large events.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.

  • Ability to interpret SDS (Safety Data Sheets).
  • Ability to understand and execute instructions independently.

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail.
  • Optional PC skills: Microsoft Office Suite.
