Job summary

FMX is seeking a Facilities Specialist to help customers optimize their facilities and maintenance operations. You will serve as a subject-matter expert in asset management, capital planning, forecasting, and facility operations.

The role involves traveling to customer sites weekly across the country, proposing features to FMX’s product, and preparing assessments to improve client facilities. Remote-friendly with home-office stipend and comprehensive benefits.

• Review repair/improvement cost data, occupancy certificates, maintenance reports, and inspection records to assess building condition.
• Document facility and asset information through photos, data capture, and analysis of systems and deficiencies.
• Estimate costs to remedy deficiencies and document alternative approaches.
• Act as subject matter expert to aid cost justifications and equipment selection.

Facilitates Management eXpress is hiring for Facilities Specialist! As our Facilities Specialist, you’ll help customers get the most out of their facilities and maintenance operations. You’ll serve as a subject-matter expert in asset management, capital planning and forecasting, facility management, and related areas.

Every customer organization is different, which is what makes this role interesting. You’ll assess each customer’s needs, scope the right approach, make a clear case for it, and deliver projects efficiently, driving results for both the customer and FMX.

As the Facilities Specialist, you will:

• Communicate with customers and prospects to gain a more thorough understanding of their business needs and document them effectively.
• Travel weekly to customer sites across the country. This is a travel-heavy role, with multi-day trips spent on site walking buildings and working alongside customers and FMX team members.
• Propose new features to FMX’s flagship product, communicate their business value, and show how we will achieve ROI.
• Prepares assessments and recommendations to help our customers improve their facilities and maintenance operations.
• Conducts walk-through surveys to assess the condition of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, structure and foundations, interiors, common areas, exterior walls, windows, roofs, site work improvements, and more.
• Interviews property owners, occupants, key site personnel and local government officials to obtain information concerning the subject property’s condition.
• Reviews repair/improvement cost information, certificate(s) of occupancy, maintenance reports and logs, building and fire department inspection reports, and similar information to determine the condition of the building.
• Document facility and asset information through photographs, digital data capture, and analysis which includes details about the systems, their conditions, and physical deficiencies to be remedied.
• Prepares estimated costs to remedy building deficiencies and document alternative approaches.
• May act as subject matter expert to aid the customer in cost justifications, equipment selection, and other consultative work.

We welcome candidates at all stages of their careers. Experience or exposure in any of these areas is a plus:

• Facility management or facilities coordination
• Building engineering or building operations
• HVAC/mechanical technology or skilled trades
• Construction, project management, or project coordination
• Maintenance supervision, maintenance technician, or related roles
• Architecture, engineering, or construction management studies, internships, or co-op.

Certifications are not required. We value candidates who have them or are interested in pursuing them:

• Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Facilities Management Professional (FMP), or Facility Management Fundamentals
• Building Operator Certification (BOC)
• EPA 608 Certification (HVAC systems)
• IFMA or BOMA courses or certifications
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 safety training
• Other relevant certifications, coursework, or trade training

Compensation:

• We will offer a base salary, as well as a Performance Bonus. Total on target earnings are expected to be $65,000 - $80,000.
