The Facilities Senior Projects Coordinator is a key driver behind high-impact County initiatives, helping turn big ideas into successful results that benefit the community. From coordinating schedules, meetings, and deliverables to monitoring timelines, budgets, and project data, this position thrives at the center of action and collaboration.

As a trusted partner to leadership, departments, clients, and external stakeholders, the Facilities Senior Projects Coordinator builds strong relationships, communicates updates clearly, and proactively removes obstacles before they become roadblocks. The role also transforms complex information into engaging reports, maintains accurate records and databases, and researches industry trends and best practices to support smarter project outcomes.

Success in this role requires strong judgment, adaptability, and a customer-focused mindset. Education and Experience

An equivalent combination of relevant training, education and experience:

  • Associate’s Degree
  • Three (3) years of experience in the area of assignment.
Licenses and/or Certificates
  • Depending on assignment:
    • Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Depending on position assignment… if assigned to work within the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office/Justice Center/Jail additional background checks will be required:
    • Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS).
    • FALCON Integrated Criminal History System.

The ideal candidate brings a strong working knowledge of departmental policies, plans, and procedures; modern office practices; and the operations of local government, including applicable County codes, ordinances, and federal, state, and local administrative regulations. This role requires proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other job-related software, as well as familiarity with project management methodologies and tools. The Facilities Senior Projects Coordinator demonstrates excellent analytical and research capabilities, strong business writing skills, and polished verbal communication abilities, including public speaking. Success in this position depends on the ability to prioritize and organize work effectively, meet deadlines, maintain accurate records and reports, and develop clear, persuasive proposals, reports, correspondence, and procedural documentation.

Equally important are strong interpersonal skills and sound judgment. The candidate must be able to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and established practices with discretion while using tact and resourcefulness to resolve new or complex challenges. This position requires the ability to work independently and collaboratively, establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers, service providers, employees, and the public, and provide internal and external guidance and customer assistance through all forms of communication. Proficiency in the use of standard office equipment and computer systems for data entry, word processing, and related functions is essential, as is the ability to develop and deliver training materials for diverse audiences, operate a motor vehicle, and consistently represent the department with professionalism and confidence.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is primarily may be performed indoors and outdoors and requires some exposure to environmental changes (e.g., outdoor weather and/or field conditions, warehouses, covered loading docks, garages, etc.) or irate customers, extreme noise, odors, heights and/or dust.

The position requires some exposure or risk related to physical and/or mental health and safety (e.g., exposure to environmentally hazardous material, assault and battery, heavy equipment, communicable disease, etc.).
