Job summary

McKesson is seeking a Facilities Representative to support the safe, efficient operation of our distribution center in Ruther Glen, VA. • Experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, or technical manuals.
• Basic computer skills and experience using maintenance tracking systems or computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on facility infrastructure, automated equipment, and material handling systems.
• Maintain and repair conveyors, A-Frames, printers, strappers, compressors, and other operational equipment to maximize uptime.
• Complete scheduled preventive maintenance activities, inspections, and work orders to support safe and efficient operations.
• Diagnose equipment issues, implement corrective actions, and support facility improvement projects.
• Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and maintain compliance with company and regulatory standards.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, coordinate with vendors when needed, and respond to facility or equipment emergencies.

About the Role

In this hands-on role, you will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and inspections on facility infrastructure and automated material handling equipment. You will help keep critical systems operating at peak performance while maintaining a safe and compliant work environment. Work Schedule: Sunday-Thursday, 7pm-4am, subject to change based on business needs.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities)

• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on facility infrastructure, automated equipment, and material handling systems.

Preferred Skills/Experience

• Experience working in a distribution center, warehouse, manufacturing, or automated production environment.
• Experience supporting conveyors, sortation systems, A-Frames, strappers, printers, compressors, or automated material handling equipment.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and equipment reliability practices.
• Familiarity with electrical systems, motors, sensors, pneumatics, and mechanical components.
• Experience working with outside contractors and service providers.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance.

Physical Requirements

• Primarily onsite in a distribution center environment.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and work around automated equipment for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds as required.
• May be required to work occasional overtime, weekends, or respond to after-hours equipment and facility emergencies.
• Must be able to safely work at heights and around industrial machinery while following all safety protocols.

Compensation

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.

Our Base Pay Range for this position $19.47 - $32.45
