Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required, supplemented by vocational or technical training in one or more building trades.
• Three years of experience in building construction, maintenance and repair.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Perform intermediate to high-level skilled trades work in renovation and maintenance of county buildings and facilities; read blueprints to determine work.
• Maintain, repair, and renovate facilities and equipment; ensure compliance with laws, codes and standards; supervise safety.
• Remove/install flooring, ceilings, fixtures, carpets; paint surfaces; perform concrete work and sheetrock installation/replacement.
• Carpentry including framing, cabinets, doors, windows, moldings; estimate materials, monitor inventory, and order supplies.
• Electrical tasks: troubleshoot, install/replace wiring, receptacles, switches, breakers and lighting.
• Plumbing tasks: install/repair pumps and plumbing systems; clear drains and leaks.
• HVAC maintenance and basic troubleshooting; assist with ductwork and filter replacement.
• Use mobile devices/software to report work orders; handle procurement of construction and maintenance items.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
