Job summary

Holy Cross Health is seeking a Facilities Project Manager to lead capital construction, renovation, and infrastructure projects across the campus and off-site locations.

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will own projects from inception to occupancy, ensuring on-time delivery, budget control, and compliance with healthcare standards.

You will coordinate with clinical leadership, design teams, contractors, and regulators to safeguard patient safety throughout all phases of construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
• 5+ years of PM experience on healthcare construction or renovation; hospital environment required.
• PMP preferred; CHFM preferred; OSHA 30 preferred; ICRA/ILSM certification preferred.
• Proficiency with Procore or equivalent CM platform; MS Project or Smartsheet; AutoCAD/Bluebeam Revu.

Responsibilities

• Define project scope, schedule, and budget with clinical stakeholders.
• Lead bid packages, RFP/RFQ process, and contractor qualifications.
• Ensure permits with AHCA Broward County; coordinate with oversight bodies.
• Review design for compliance with FGI, NFPA 101/99, TJC EC standards.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Facilities Project Manager leads the planning, execution, and closeout of capital construction, renovation, and infrastructure projects across Holy Cross Health's main campus and off-site locations. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, this role serves as the primary owner of all assigned capital projects from inception through occupancy, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and in compliance with TJC Environment of Care, FGI Guidelines, local building codes, and infection control requirements. The Project Manager partners with clinical leadership, design teams, contractors, and regulatory bodies to protect patient safety throughout every phase of construction.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Planning & Initiation
• Define project scope, objectives, schedule, and budget in collaboration with clinical stakeholders, the Director of Engineering, and finance leadership.
• Lead the development of project charters, space programs, and feasibility assessments for new capital projects.
• Coordinate with the Facilities Project Coordinator on project setup in the capital project management system, document management platform, and CMMS.
• Evaluate contractor qualifications, prepare bid packages, manage the RFP/RFQ process, and make award recommendations to leadership.
• Ensure all projects requiring permits are submitted to Broward County Building Department and the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) prior to construction.
Design & Pre-Construction Management
• Lead design review meetings with architects, engineers, and clinical end-users; issue formal design review comments at each phase (schematic, design development, construction documents).
• Review construction documents for compliance with FGI Guidelines, NFPA 101, NFPA 99, TJC EC standards, and HCH design standards.
• Coordinate infection control risk assessments (ICRA) and interim life safety measures (ILSM) with infection control, safety, and the Engineering Supervisor prior to construction start.
• Confirm utility coordination requirements including shutdowns, tie-ins, temporary power, and medical gas impacts before issuing notice to proceed.
Construction Management & Oversight
• Serve as the owner's representative for all assigned active construction projects; attend weekly OAC meetings and maintain detailed meeting minutes.
• Monitor contractor schedule adherence, quality of work, site safety compliance, and ICRA/ILSM implementation throughout construction.
• Review, log, and process all Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, and change order requests; present change orders requiring approval to the Director of Engineering.
• Conduct regular site walks with the Facilities Project Coordinator to verify contractor progress and document field conditions.
• Manage project budget tracking including original contract, approved change orders, pending changes, and projected cost at completion.
Commissioning, Closeout & Turnover
• Lead pre-final and final inspections with the contractor, design team, clinical stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
• Ensure all AHCA and Broward County inspections are scheduled, passed, and documented prior to occupancy.
• Coordinate systems commissioning, clinical space certification (OR pressure tests, isolation room verification, sterile processing qualification), and end-user training.
• Manage project closeout: collect as-built drawings, O&M manuals, warranties, attic stock, and CMMS equipment records; transfer to Engineering Operations upon project completion.
• Conduct lessons-learned reviews after each major project and incorporate findings into standard procedures.
Stakeholder Communication & Reporting
• Prepare and distribute monthly capital project status reports to the Director of Engineering, CFO, and clinical leadership including schedule, budget, risk, and action items.
• Maintain the capital project portfolio dashboard for executive visibility.
• Serve as the primary point of escalation for clinical department managers on construction-related impacts to operations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field required Experience: 5+ years of project management experience on healthcare construction or renovation projects; hospital environment experience required
Licenses / Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional) preferred; CHFM preferred; OSHA 30 preferred; ICRA/ILSM certification preferred

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• PMP (Project Management Professional) certification from PMI.
• CHFM (Certified Healthcare Facility Manager) certification.
• Demonstrated experience managing AHCA-permitted healthcare renovation projects in Florida.
• Familiarity with FGI Guidelines for Design and Construction of Hospitals (latest edition).
• Experience managing projects involving active clinical spaces including operating rooms, ICUs, and sterile processing departments.
• LEED AP or equivalent sustainability credential.
