Job summary

Arizona State University is seeking an Estimator for its Facilities Management team. The role focuses on assessing project costs, preparing accurate estimates, and supporting planning and budgeting for facilities initiatives.

Collaboration with operations and project teams is essential to ensure precise cost estimates. The Estimator will develop cost estimates for new construction, renovation, and maintenance, while maintaining historical data and tracking market trends to inform leadership

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Experience in preparing project scopes, sketches, markups, and cost estimates for facility projects.
Experience with RSMeans and Microsoft Excel; reading and interpreting drawings.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with facilities teams, operations, project managers and outside experts to gather scope, estimates and schedules.
Work with university customers on scopes to account for schedules and operational needs.
Analyze project documents (blueprints, specs) to determine quantity takeoffs and costs.
Analyze contractor quotes and estimates for completeness and alignment with developed costs.
Perform field site visits to verify conditions and document findings with reports and scopes of work.
