Job summary

The George Washington University is seeking a skilled Plumber to support plumbing operations across campus. The role involves maintaining and repairing plumbing systems, coordinating with Zone Managers, and providing clear reports on activity and inspections.

Working hours are Monday–Friday, with on-call rotations and holiday weekend coverage as needed. DC licensure is preferred, and a strong commitment to safety and quality is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus 1.5 years of relevant professional experience, or a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant area of study.
• DC Journeyman Plumbing License is preferred. Reciprocity accepted.
• Reading architectural and mechanical drawings is desirable.
• Experience with plumbing codes and safety standards is preferred.
• Ability to manage work orders and CMMS systems.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement and manage a preventative maintenance program for plumbing systems.
• Inspect and troubleshoot plumbing systems in commercial facilities.
• Coordinate inspections and due diligence with stakeholders.
• Provide regular reports to Zone Manager and ensure quality control on contractor work.
• Maintain knowledge of local codes and safety procedures.
