Job summary

University of Georgia is hiring a Facilities Plumber for the Griffin Campus to support plumbing operations within the CAES-Griffin Campus Facilities Management Division. The role includes preventive maintenance, design and fabrication of pipe fittings, and oversight of plumbing contractors on campus.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent with 5 years of related experience; a Georgia Master Plumbing License is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and 5 years of related experience.
• Georgia Master Plumbing License preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive maintenance, inspections, installation and repair of plumbing pipes, sinks, traps, valves, faucets, vents, pumps, and related equipment.
• Designs and fabricates pipe fittings for renovations, gas, vacuum, air, hot/cold water, DI/DE water, drain, irrigation systems, and greenhouse heating and cooling systems.
• Plans and lays out work from instructions; provide technical oversight of plumbing contractors and subcontractors.
• Maintains regular inspections of work in progress and completion; participates in more complex plumbing tasks; communicates with officials on projects.
• Estimates job labor and materials costs; maintains job and cost records; requisitions materials and equipment.
• Orders supplies using a P-Card.
