We are LEGOLAND California Resort - the place where FUN is built and memories are made. Across our Resort we have two fantastic LEGO themed Hotels, a Water Park, a SEA LIFE Aquarium, more than 60 rides and attractions, 20 food and beverage locations, and 14 retail stores – the opportunities here are endless!

Position Summary:

Safety is paramount in everything we do. This role is part of the facilities team, which is an integral part of our Technical Services department. As a member of the facilities team, you will play a major role in the success of our resort and have one of the most important responsibilities throughout the park. You must always provide and guarantee a fun and safe environment for our guests with a focus on safety, ensuring that our attractions and buildings are inspected, maintained, and repaired to the highest levels possible. As a plumber, you will remove, install, repair and test all water (hot/cold and domestic/potable) sewers, storm drainage, and any other plumbing system within the park. You may assist other maintenance trades as deemed necessary by facilities supervision. Troubleshooting and using equipment associated with plumbing systems, removal of blockages and new installation and repairs. Keep Safety as #1 priority. Ensure compliance with appliance standards, Legoland’s health and safety standards and OSHA requirements. Other tasks assigned based on business need.

Follow established maintenance program, including any emergency repairs as required, keeping plumbing system operating in the park. Ensure reliability of all plumbing systems through preventative maintenance and inspection. Respond to emergency calls within theme park, expediting repairs to ensure guests’ and employees’ safety and comfort at all times. Operate simple machine tools, such as drill presses, power saws, grinders, power drain cleaners, pipe threading machines, etc.

Scope and Responsibilities:

  1. Keeps safety as #1 priority. Wears appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follows instructions of handling materials based on their SDS (safety data sheets).
  2. Follows LEGOLAND California policies and procedures at all times.
  3. Fill pipes or plumbing fixtures with water or air and observe pressure gauges to detect and locate leaks.
  4. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  5. Must be at least 18 years old.
  6. Minimum of 4 years as a plumber.
  7. Assemble pipe sections, tubing and fittings, using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, or soldering, brazing.
  8. Review blueprints and building codes and specifications to determine work details and procedures.
  9. Requires a demonstrated flexibility to handle a wide range of highly complex and challenging duties throughout the theme park, with extreme care, focused attention and skillful precision.
  10. Requires the ability to use a full range of measuring devices and power tools.
  11. Follow applicable building codes, ordinances and regulations of State and local authorities pertaining to plumbing, including OSHA.

  23. Advises working supervisor and/or management of any discrepancies in equipment or tools.
  24. Ensures that all work assigned is completed and of good sound workmanship.
  25. Preventative Maintenance checks are accurately logged in INFOR EAM work order system.
  26. Work with vendors to bid correct material and equipment needed.
  27. Stays informed and updated on modern techniques and technical methods.
  28. Responds to emergency calls within theme park, expediting repairs to ensure the safety and comfort of our guests and fellow employees.
  29. May be required to assist in a variety of other maintenance-related tasks depending on the needs of the department and employee capabilities.

Requirements:

  1. Requires at least four (4) years of experience working as a plumber in the field or in a facilities maintenance engineering department.
  2. Knowledge of tools, materials and equipment used to repair, build and maintain buildings, facilities and mechanical equipment is required.
  3. Knowledge of job requirements and type of equipment/tools is essential.
  4. Competency in operation of plumbing equipment such as trash pumps, power-feed drain cleaners, submersible sump pumps, lift station equipment, drain cleaning jetters, pipe threading equipment, plumbing line locating equipment and all plumbing hand tools equipment needed etc.
  5. Present in a neat, well-groomed professional manner.
  6. Requires the ability to perform mathematical and geometric computations of complete assigned work orders.
  7. Reads and understands blueprints and possesses excellent knowledge of weights, distances and measurements.
  8. Ability to observe and remember details is required. Must have effective decision-making skills.

Education:

A high school diploma or general education degree (or equivalent education and experience) is required.

Other Requirements:

  1. Must be willing to work early morning hours, including weekends to support park operations.
  2. Must have valid driver’s license, safe driving record.

Compensation:
Compensation for the opportunity is $28.00 - $30.00
*Compensation Rates are dependent upon skills and experiences related to the opportunity*
