Job summary

Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of HII, seeks a facilities project leader to plan space and resources for company projects. You will direct maintenance, facility modifications and building initiatives from initial concept through design and implementation.

The role requires establishing milestones, budgets and schedules, negotiating contracts, and coordinating with operations to deliver on cost and performance targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of relevant exempt experience
• Master’s Degree and 4 year of relevant professional experience
• NNS Apprentice School graduate
• NNPS graduate
• Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
• Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
• High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
• High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience

Responsibilities

• Plans utilization of space and facilities for company requirements, ensuring efficiency and available resources.
• Plans, directs and manages all phases of equipment and machinery maintenance, facilities modification and building projects from design concept through implementation.
• Establishes milestones, budgets, schedules and monitors adherence to master plans; negotiates contract changes and identifies cost/technical risks.
• Acts as primary contact for facilities and equipment maintenance, coordinates project activities and leads reviews on cost, schedule, and performance.

Education

Bachelor's Degree with relevant exempt experience

Master's Degree in relevant field

NNS Apprentice School graduate

NNPS graduate

Associate's Degree or 2-year program + 2 years relevant exempt

Military Paygrade E-5 or above

High School/GED + 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience

High School/GED + 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience
