Position Summary

The Facilities Painter II is responsible for applying coats of paint, varnish, stain, or enamel to decorate interior and exterior surfaces, trim, and fixtures throughout all Busey facilities.
Duties & Responsibilities
Maintenance and repair performed in all facilities (travel is required):
  • Smooth and prepare surfaces for painting
  • Fill holes, cracks, and joints with various fillers
  • Tape and texture walls and ceilings
  • Paint surfaces, using brushes, spray gun, or paint rollers, and apply paint with cloth, brush, or sponge.
  • Stain, seal, and varnish wood surfaces
  • Use scaffolding or ladder to perform tasks above ground level

Safety:

  • Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures
  • Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure safe operating condition
  • Store, handle and dispose of paint and other chemicals according to established procedures
  • Report any unsafe work conditions that are not correctable to supervisor
Assist Facilities Department with department moves/projects as needed.
Education & Experience

Knowledge of:

  • Equipment, materials, practices, and tools used in painting trade

Ability To:

  • Properly apply paints
  • Follow written and verbal instructions
  • Work independently
  • Ability to understand computer work order system
  • Lift and carry an average of 50 pounds
  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Education and Training:

  • Requires High School diploma.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Previous painting experience required.
  • Requires knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Benefits and Compensation

Salary offered is based on factors, including but not limited to, the job duties, required qualifications and relevant experience, and local market trends. The role may be eligible for bonus or incentives based on company and individual performance.

(Base Pay Range: $20.30-$26.70/hour)
