Job summary

Abington Memorial Hospital is seeking a skilled painter/maintenance worker to prepare surfaces and apply paint, varnish, stain, enamel, or lacquer to decorate and protect interior and exterior surfaces. You may install wall coverings, perform minor carpentry work, and maintain painting supplies and inventory.

Flexibility in hours is required to meet hospital needs. Responsibilities include plaster work, sealing, cleaning, color matching, and assisting trades as needed while ensuring safe

Qualifications

• Knowledge of and ability to implement HSE policies to ensure safety and environment compliance.
• Ability to maintain safe practices in daily operations and perform maintenance tasks.
• Flexibility to accommodate hospital schedules and shifts.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers and staff to maintain hospital facilities and comply with safety standards.
• Applies plaster and finishes to walls as part of painting projects.
• Installs backing materials and wall coverings where needed.
• Prepares surfaces, selects paints and matches colors for finishes.
• Seals, cleans and prepares surfaces for painting and repairs as required.
• Assists trades and performs other maintenance duties as assigned.
• Completes hospital rounds to identify compliance deficiencies.
