Job summary

Corteva Agriscience seeks a Facilities Operations Shift Lead for our Indianapolis, IN campus. You will provide shift leadership across campus infrastructure and building systems, ensuring safe and reliable operations while coordinating maintenance activities and safety compliance.

You will oversee incident response, contractor coordination, and logs, collaborating with EHS, engineering, and business partners to continuously improve system performance.

Qualifications

• Experience leading teams in a facility, operations, manufacturing, industrial, utilities, or critical environment.
• Strong understanding of facility operations including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, life safety, and utility systems.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize work, coordinate resources, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience responding to facility incidents, alarms, outages, and emergency situations.

Responsibilities

• Provide shift leadership for Facilities Operations personnel, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of campus infrastructure and building systems.
• Coordinate daily work activities, prioritize facility issues, and support execution of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
• Serve as the first point of contact for operational escalations, emergencies, and critical facility events during assigned shifts.
• Monitor building automation, utility, and critical infrastructure systems to maintain continuity of operations.
• Support contractor coordination, permit processes, lockout/tagout procedures, and safe work practices.
• Lead shift turnover communications and maintain accurate operational logs, work records, and status reports.
• Collaborate with Facilities Operations, EHS, engineering teams, business partners, and contractors to resolve issues and improve system performance.
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, continuous improvement, and customer service excellence.
• Assist in training, mentoring, and development of team members while supporting operational goals and compliance requirements.

We have an exciting opportunity for Facilities Operations Shift Leads at our Indianapolis, IN location. We are currently hiring for openings on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts. Shift assignments will be discussed during the hiring process.

What You’ll Do

Education

• You have your High School Diploma/GED.

What Skills You Need

• Experience leading teams in a facility, operations, manufacturing, industrial, utilities, or critical environment.
• Strong understanding of facility operations including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, life safety, and utility systems.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize work, coordinate resources, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience responding to facility incidents, alarms, outages, and emergency situations.
• Knowledge of safety regulations, permits, lockout/tagout, and contractor safety management practices.
• Strong communication, leadership, conflict resolution, and team-building skills.
• Experience using CMMS, work order systems, building automation systems, or other facility management technologies.
• Ability to analyze operational issues, make sound decisions, and drive resolution with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and emergency response situations as needed.

What Makes You Stand Out

• Associate degree, technical certification, military training, or equivalent experience in Facilities Operations, Engineering Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Building Automation Systems (BAS), utility infrastructure, and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Experience driving operational excellence initiatives, process improvements, and reliability-centered maintenance programs.
• Proven ability to mentor, develop, and engage employees while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Experience managing contractors, vendor partnerships, and cross-functional stakeholder relationships.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in mechanical rooms, rooftops, and occupied buildings.
• Ability to distinguish wire colors and use diagnostic instruments.
• Ability to respond to after-hours emergencies when required.

Work Environment

This position operates in office, laboratory, industrial, and mechanical room environments. Occasional after-hours support may be required for critical facility systems, outages, commissioning activities, and emergency response situations.
