The Boeing Company in Las Cruces, NM is seeking a motivated Facilities Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Manager to lead 24/7 site operations on a government contract. You will supervise multi-disciplinary O&M teams, manage PM programs, and integrate new construction into ongoing maintenance while coordinating with government stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of facilities operations experience.
  • 3+ years’ supervisory experience in facilities operations.
  • Experience operating and maintaining power generation, chilled water plants, and large-scale facilities equipment (e.g., switchgear, boilers, chillers, pumps, HVAC central plants, UPS).
  • Experience managing preventative maintenance programs and critical spares inventory for mission-essential equipment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of concise technical reports and briefings for government and contractor management.
  • Candidates must have at least one year of leadership experience OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership.”

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the on-site Manager responsible for all facilities operations and maintenance activities across the site
  • Direct, supervise, mentor and develop multi-disciplinary O&M teams (24/7 operations) and ensure adequate staffing, scheduling, and response capability for site anomalies and emergencies
  • Oversee operation, maintenance, testing and troubleshooting of power generation systems, emergency power, chilled water plants, HVAC systems, boilers, pumps, switchgear, UPS, and other large-scale mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Manage preventative maintenance (PM) programs for critical and non-critical equipment to minimize mission interruptions; ensure timely execution, documentation, and continuous optimization of PM tasks
  • Integrate new construction projects into maintenance programs, developing testing/commissioning requirements, and coordinating site acceptance reviews
  • Manage critical spares inventory for mission-essential equipment: establish spares requirements, inventory controls, procurement justification, and readiness levels to prevent unplanned outages
  • Interpret, implement and enforce maintenance policies, procedures and contract requirements
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies, local codes and applicable regulations
  • Maintain and annually update maintenance SOPs in coordination and collaboration with site engineering; implement SOP changes and train staff as needed
  • Integrate new construction, equipment upgrades and renovation projects into the O&M program; develop testing/commissioning requirements and coordinate site acceptance reviews (SATs)
  • Provide timely notification to designated Government Points of Contact (GPOCs) and Operations personnel regarding significant facility events. Prepare concise event summaries, document critical actions taken, remediation plans, and present briefs to site management and stakeholders
  • Maintain safety-focused culture: conduct regular safety meetings, risk assessments and corrective actions to ensure a safe workplace for all personnel
  • Track and report KPIs for facility availability, PM compliance, corrective maintenance backlog, spare parts readiness and safety metrics
  • Support on-call rotations and after-hours coordination as required by contract; ability to work on-site and supervise in 24/7 rotations and emergency response as required

The O&M Manager will ensure continuous, safe, and compliant facility operations by providing hands‑on leadership to multi‑trade maintenance teams, managing preventative maintenance and critical spares, executing maintenance policy, integrating new construction into the maintenance program, and communicating facility status to government stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
  • 5+ years of facilities operations experience
  • 3+ years’ supervisory experience in facilities operations
  • Experience operating and maintaining power generation, chilled water plants, and large‑scale facilities equipment (e.g., switchgear, boilers, chillers, pumps, HVAC central plants, UPS).
  • Experience managing preventative maintenance programs and critical spares inventory for mission‑essential equipment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of concise technical reports and briefings for government and contractor management
  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functionalproject/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership.”
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
  • Certification(s) in facility management or maintenance (e.g., CFM, CMRP, Certified Facility Manager)
  • Technical trades background (electrical, mechanical/HVAC, plumbing, or instrumentation) with hands on maintenance experience
  • Experience with asset condition assessments and lifecycle cost planning
  • Experience with reliability centered maintenance (RCM) or predictive maintenance technologies (vibration analysis, infrared thermography, oil analysis, etc.) Experience with relevant codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., NFPA, ASHRAE, OSHA, local building codes)
