Job summary

Pierce County is seeking a seasoned facilities manager to oversee maintenance and operations of county facilities, grounds, and infrastructure. You will supervise a unit, coordinate work, and ensure projects meet standards and timelines.

You will lead technicians and contractors, manage workload, and uphold safety and training programs while supporting the department’s mission to serve the public.

Qualifications

• Seven years of work experience in building trades or related fields.
• Two years of supervisory experience leading employees.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, licenses required by codes or regulations (state/local).
• Background check and county physical may be required before appointment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance and operations of county facilities and properties, associated grounds, and infrastructure.
• Supervise and coordinate activities of a designated unit; determine work procedures, schedules, and methods; review and approve work.
• Process work requests, prioritize, plan, and assign work orders with customers, staff, and contractors.
• As SME, review pre-bid maintenance and capital projects for resource needs and impact on buildings and tenants.
• Implement and monitor training; verify service providers possess required licenses and certifications.
