Job summary

Versar Global Solutions seeks an on-site Assistant Chief Building Engineer to oversee daily facility operations, maintenance, and repairs at the Tulsa location. You will back up the Chief Building Engineer, respond to issues, and ensure uninterrupted operations and contract compliance.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in building operations, strong knowledge of HVAC/electrical systems, and experience with maintenance planning and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; associate degree or technical/vocational training preferred.
• Five+ years' experience supporting building operations, maintenance, and repair in large facilities.
• Experience overseeing preventive maintenance and corrective repair programs for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Coordinate daily maintenance activities, support supplier performance, and maintain service records to meet contract/work plan requirements.
• Knowledge of facility safety practices, codes, and handling chemicals/hazards.

Responsibilities

• Work full-time on-site during normal hours and support daily facility engineering operations.
• Serve as backup to the Chief Building Engineer and cover leave as scheduled.
• Respond to facility issues by phone or on-site to support continuity of operations.
• Report to Facility Manager and USPS COR on operation status and issues.
• Ensure compliance with USPS guidelines for chemicals and hazardous materials.
• Assist in supervising services to operate and maintain the facility per Addendum requirements.
• Create and maintain detailed work plans supporting maintenance objectives.
• Maintain logs of deficiencies and operational concerns.
• Maintain files related to supplier work.
• Assist with monthly reports and USPS work plan discussions.
