Job summary

Dallas Arboretum in Dallas, TX is seeking a dependable Janitor to support our Operations team. This hands-on role keeps the property clean, safe, and welcoming for staff and visitors. You work five days a week, including weekends, with clear expectations and opportunities to contribute to a well-maintained facility.

The position reports to the Operations Manager and offers healthcare, a 401K, and PTO. Daily duties include cleaning tasks, restocking supplies, reporting issues, and safely

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of work experience involving physical or manual labor.
• Basic English understanding and communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and stay active during shifts.
• Willing to work weekends and flexible hours as needed.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Professional communication and a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily janitorial and custodial services, including cleaning restrooms, offices, and shared spaces.
• Deliver and restock janitorial supplies; monitor usage for inventory accuracy.
• Identify, report, and address facility issues such as leaks or maintenance concerns.
• Safely operate cleaning equipment (vacuums, scrubbers, pressure washers).
• Maintain janitorial equipment and replace parts as needed.
• Secure equipment at shift end and report supply or repair needs.
• Follow daily/weekly/monthly cleaning schedules; assist with special projects.
• Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather; uniforms provided.
• Collaborate with team members and support Operations projects.
