Job summary

University of Miami in Miami, FL is seeking a Facilities Operations Control Representative to join our Facilities Management team. This full-time, hybrid role acts as a liaison to faculty, staff and facility managers to ensure safety and smooth operations of all facility functions and services.

The position requires strong customer service, multi-tasking, and the ability to coordinate work orders, respond to alarms and emergencies, and communicate effectively across campus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent/relevant experience, certification or license.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones with appropriate greeting and address/resolve issues or transfer to appropriate staff.
• Enter, transcribe, record, store or maintain information in written or electronic form.
• Monitor and respond to email requests received through customer service email accounts.
• Oversee work order control and management.
• Distributes office supplies and assists in maintaining inventory.
• Assist in planning, scheduling, coordinating and communication of general maintenance, major repairs and shutdowns.
• Communicate to the University community in a timely, effective and efficient manner.
• Maintain call trees to ensure appropriate communication during emergencies or disasters.
• Monitor alarm systems (energy, fire, security) and coordinate with related shops to mitigate interruptions.
• Respond to emergencies and involve managers, mechanics, and contractors as needed.
