Job summary

Cornerstone Advocacy Service is seeking a Facilities Assistant to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for participants, staff, and volunteers. Responsibilities include housekeeping, minor maintenance, and upkeep of facilities primarily in Bloomington with occasional travel. Ideal candidates will have relevant experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work with diverse communities.

The position offers a comprehensive benefits package and is part of a unionized workforce. Candidates should be prepared to lift up to 50 pounds and possess a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Experience in housekeeping, maintenance, inventory coordination, or related operational work.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, problem solve and work independently and collaboratively.
• Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Commitment to working effectively with individuals from diverse ethnic, cultural, social, and economic backgrounds.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical job duties in a fast-paced environment.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current insurance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment throughout facilities.
• Complete housekeeping duties including cleaning participant rooms, common areas, and bathrooms.
• Assist with routine preventative maintenance and minor repairs.
• Conduct room inspections to support health, safety, and maintenance standards.
• Communicate supply, maintenance, and facility needs to the Facilities Manager.
• Adhere to organizational safety policies and procedures.
