Intel Corporation in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Facilities Mechanical Engineer to ensure reliability of critical mechanical systems across manufacturing, cleanroom, and R&D activities. You will design, maintain, and optimize oil-free air, HVAC, water plants, and exhaust systems while coordinating with global teams.

Ideal candidates have a mechanical engineering background with 4+ years in facilities engineering, strong analytical and safety focus, and the ability to lead cross‑functional projects

Responsibilities

• Ensure availability, reliability, and maintenance of mechanical systems like HVAC, chilled water plants, boilers, and exhaust systems.

As a Facilities Mechanical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliable operation and maintenance of Intel's advanced mechanical systems, supporting our cutting‑edge manufacturing, cleanroom, and research and development activities. Your work will directly impact Intel's ability to innovate and deliver world‑class technologies by maintaining the critical infrastructure that enables peak operational performance. Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the availability, reliability, and maintenance of mechanical systems such as oil-free air systems, HVAC systems, chilled water plants, boilers, environmental abatement systems, and compliance exhaust systems.
• Support daily tactical efforts to meet safety, reliability, and environmental targets for mechanical systems.
• Design and analyze mechanical systems and equipment, troubleshoot systematic issues, and provide evaluations, recommendations, and solutions to resolve problems.
• Develop engineering scopes of work for mechanical projects and conduct design reviews to ensure system integrity and performance.
• Conduct feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs, while overseeing prototype fabrication and design testing.
• Partner with internal business units and operations teams to deliver engineering solutions tailored to their specific needs.
• Collaborate with operations and maintenance service providers to ensure proper system operation and adherence to specified limits.
• Develop and implement a mechanical systems roadmap and asset replacement strategy to ensure system reliability, redundancy, and capacity for future expansion, renovation, and growth.
• Drive the successful commissioning of new mechanical systems, as well as significant modifications to existing systems.
• Support strategic engineering projects and explore advanced automated solutions to achieve cost savings and increase operational efficiency.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 4+ years of experience in facilities engineering and a strong foundation in mechanical systems
• Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3+ years of experience in facilities engineering and a strong foundation in mechanical systems

Depending on the degree obtained, the listed number of years of experience will be needed in the items below:

• Oil‑free air systems, HVAC systems, chilled water plants, boilers, environmental abatement systems, or compliance exhaust systems.
• Large-scale manufacturing/ mechanical engineering facility services support.
• Identifying, analyzing and solving immediate issues with technical equipment.
• Experience with mechanical (pumps, piping, valves, and other) and control (instrumentation, PCS and other) systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in project management, infrastructure mapping, and semiconductor facilities operations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional engineering initiatives and collaborate with global teams.
• Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and strategic thinking capabilities.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in dynamic environments.
• Ability to work and adapt in a rapidly changing environment with minimal supervision.
