Position Summary: Aggregate Mineral Resource Group, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Facilities Mechanic/Operator with specialized knowledge in electrical systems and low‑voltage controls to support the daily operations of our Desert Center facilities. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient functioning of the facility’s equipment, processes, and systems by performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair tasks. This role involves operating and adjusting a wide range of industrial machinery, monitoring process control systems, and responding to facility needs as they arise. A deep understanding of industrial process controls, particularly electrical systems and low‑voltage automation, will be essential to success in this role. This position requires a high degree of technical expertise, along with the ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Operate and Monitor Facility Equipment: Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of various equipment and machinery used in aggregate processing and production. Monitor real‑time data from control systems to ensure proper functionality and make necessary adjustments to maintain optimal performance.
  • Process Adjustments and Control: Perform regular process evaluations, making adjustments as needed to ensure equipment operates within safe and efficient parameters. Adjust system settings, such as pressure, temperature, and voltage, to optimize production.
  • Respond to Alarms and Emergencies: React promptly to alarms, process deviations, or equipment malfunctions. Implement corrective actions, troubleshoot issues, and ensure minimal disruption to facility operations.
  • Electrical System Management: Perform routine and emergency repairs on electrical systems, including but not limited to low‑voltage controls, motor controls, wiring, and switchgear. Ensure electrical systems are compliant with local and national regulations.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance tasks on all facility equipment, including conveyors, motors, pumps, compressors, and control systems. Develop and follow a scheduled preventative maintenance plan to minimize unplanned downtime.
  • Mechanical System Maintenance: Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment such as bearings, hydraulics, belts, and pneumatic systems. Perform adjustments and replacements as required to prevent wear and failure.
  • Equipment Calibration and Testing: Periodically test and calibrate equipment and control systems to ensure they meet performance standards. Verify instrument accuracy and troubleshoot discrepancies.
  • Safety Inspections and Protocols: Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations. Conduct regular inspections of facility machinery, electrical panels, and control systems to identify potential hazards and take corrective actions. Participate in safety meetings and contribute to the creation of a safe working environment.
  • Adhere to Regulatory Standards: Ensure that all facility operations, especially those related to electrical and mechanical systems, comply with applicable OSHA, MSHA, and other regulatory safety standards.
  • Maintain Documentation: Accurately document all maintenance and repair activities, including time spent on jobs, parts used, and completion status. Update equipment logs and process control records as needed.
  • Work with Cross‑Functional Teams: Collaborate closely with production managers, engineers, and other operations personnel to diagnose and resolve equipment issues and improve operational efficiencies.
  • Training and Mentorship: Provide guidance and training to less experienced technicians or operators as needed. Share knowledge regarding process control systems, troubleshooting techniques, and safety procedures.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in process improvement initiatives aimed at increasing operational efficiency, reducing downtime, and improving equipment reliability. Offer recommendations on system upgrades, equipment replacements, or process modifications.
Requirements
  • Electrical and Low‑Voltage Controls Expertise: Strong working knowledge of electrical systems, including low‑voltage controls, motor control systems, and automation technology. Ability to diagnose and repair electrical components, including circuit breakers, transformers, wiring, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
