Columbia University in the City of the City of New York is seeking a Mechanic A to perform repair and maintenance across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. The role requires reading blueprints and applying preventive maintenance practices while complying with the union contract.

The position is regular, 40 hours per week, with a standard schedule Monday through Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm. The salary range is listed for budgeting purposes, and finalists are paid within that range.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Three years of experience in trades or technical discipline.
• Must have all applicable licenses and permits.
• Ability to read and interpret documents, diagrams, and schedules.

Responsabilidades

• Troubleshoot, repair, and replace circuits, fixtures, and wiring.
• Install and service plumbing fixtures and piping.
• Maintain water systems, radiators, valves, and related equipment.
• Repair interior finishes, doors, and security hardware.
• Repair cabinets, shelving, and drywall; patch and paint as needed.
• Maintain records of daily assignments and work orders.
• Assist in evaluating new equipment for purchase.
