Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversees facilities, including maintenance, custodial, and repair work.
- Maintains accurate records for room use and class loads.
- Meets with the corporate office to ensure facilities information is up to date and repairs are made as needed.
- Reviews all contractual agreements and warranties to ensure proper operation of machinery.
- Coordinates building repair and maintenance activities.
- Examines the building regularly for repairs and maintenance needs.
- Meets with cleaning companies to ensure contractual obligations are met.
- Ensures copier equipment is operational and paper supplies are sufficient.
- Schedules necessary maintenance meetings.
- Processes audio/visual needs and distributes materials accordingly.
- Maintains phones and radios.
- Arranges locker cleanup and maintenance at year-end.
- Coordinates transportation for school trips.
- Schedules fire drills with the fire department.
- Assists in campus security and control practices.
- Maintains HVAC systems.
- Manages key inventory and alarm systems.
- Confirms fire evacuation routes are clear throughout the facility.
- Reviews the Master Calendar regularly for facility and custodial needs during scheduled events.
- Coordinates facility cleanup after school events with custodial staff.
- Prepares for summer school opening timelines.
- Oversees daily opening and closing of school facilities.
- Assesses equipment obsolescence in consultation with the corporate office.
- Sets maintenance priorities and sequences work accordingly.
- Develops preventive maintenance programs.
- Establishes emergency repair systems.
- Implements programs to reduce vandalism, theft, and arson.
- Develops property safeguarding systems.
- Maintains security and locking systems.
- Inspects buildings and grounds regularly.
- Conducts annual fire and tornado drills, maintaining logs.
- Manages flag raising and lowering procedures.
- Supervises custodial services.
- Collaborates with local police on security issues.
- Coordinates transportation, custodial, cafeteria, and support services.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Medium work: ability to lift, push, and pull objects up to 50 lbs.
- Stand for up to six hours continuously.
- Ability to perform tasks involving stooping, reaching, and bending; dexterity for handling objects.
- Ability to smell, taste, and feel to assess food quality.
- Work with chemicals, both caustic and non-caustic.
- Handle interruptions and supervise multiple tasks.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
