Job summary

Florida Department of Management Services seeks a Facilities Manager to lead the maintenance, security, and service programs for Tallahassee state facilities. You will supervise staff, manage vendor contracts, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems.

The role requires after-hours availability, strong leadership, and the ability to oversee multiple properties and complex contracts. On-site work in Tallahassee, FL is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years' experience in facilities management of commercial facilities.
• Minimum of two years’ supervisory experience.
• Must be available after-hours for callbacks or shift work at night, on weekends and state holidays when necessary.
• Must be physically able to climb multiple flights of stairs, climb a ladder, reach overhead, work from heights, bend at the waist, kneel and crouch, be able to work near loud noises and electrical equipment, work in basements, tight spaces, on rooftops.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, directs and maintains preventive maintenance and related operations for state facilities in Tallahassee.
• Directs staff in organizing, planning and directing operations and maintenance of equipment, including repairs and general building maintenance.
• Maintains computerized HVAC and security systems; operates emergency generator and UPS.
• Oversees custodial and security contracts to meet specifications and contract obligations.
