Job summary

Google is seeking a Facilities Manager to lead daily operations of its offices with a focus on data centers. You will ensure reliability, coordinate with teams, and uphold Google's standards for efficiency and safety.

Qualifications

  • Experience mentoring or developing managers.

Responsibilities

  • Own compliance activities for data centers and analyze results across regional and global teams.
  • Lead monitoring of data center systems operations and coordinate responses to excursions.
  • Ensure sites follow facility and maintenance programs globally, improving policies.
  • Develop strategies to reduce operational costs, improve efficiency, and minimize environmental impact.
  • Incorporate domain expertise to enhance data center design for next-generation facilities.

Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience managing technical teams in charge of operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and controls infrastructure and components.
  • Experience in mentoring or developing managers.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience in mission critical systems operations (e.g., power generation, data center, refinery, chip fabrication, chemical processing, or other high consequence environments).
  • Experience in collaborating with other business units to meet company goals and standards.
  • Understanding of the operations and maintenance of electrical, control systems, and mechanical systems in a data center environment.
  • Ability to develop and grow team members through coaching, mentoring, and training.Excellent people management and leadership skills.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $138000 - $200000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Own efforts to perform compliance activities for a data center and analyze compliance results for data centers globally. Ensure regional and global teams are complying with project/schedule guidelines and Google design standards.
  • Lead efforts to monitor data center systems operations, control site activities to minimize risk, and to ensure effective response to any excursions.
  • Lead efforts to ensure all sites are following facility, maintenance, and standard programs globally while exhibiting strength in improvement to said policies and programs.
  • Own the development of strategies to keep operational costs to a minimum, improve efficiency, and reduce environmental impact at a site, along with driving site-level development of programs and initiatives.
  • Incorporate subdomain expertise and experience to enhance data center design to optimize equipment and operations for next generation data centers.
