Job summary

Google’s Facilities Management team oversees daily office operations and shapes our collaborative spaces. You’ll be a creative, organized specialist who ensures environments run smoothly and clients are delighted, enabling top-level work.

Joining the AI and Infrastructure group, you’ll help deliver reliable data center operations, scalable infrastructure, and cost-efficient programs across global sites, supporting Google’s cutting-edge innovation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience managing technical teams.
• Experience mentoring or developing managers.

Responsibilities

• Own compliance activities for data centers and analyze results globally.
• Lead monitoring of data center operations to minimize risk and respond to excursions.
• Ensure sites follow facility, maintenance, and standard programs globally while driving policy improvements.
• Develop strategies to keep operational costs to a minimum, improve efficiency, and reduce environmental impact.
• Incorporate subdomain expertise to enhance data center design for next generation facilities.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience managing technical teams in charge of operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and controls infrastructure and components.
• Experience in mentoring or developing managers.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience in mission critical systems operations (e.g., power generation, data center, refinery, chip fabrication, chemical processing, or other high consequence environments).
• Experience in collaborating with other business units to meet company goals and standards.
• Understanding of the operations and maintenance of electrical, control systems, and mechanical systems in a data center environment.
• Ability to develop and grow team members through coaching, mentoring, and training.
• Excellent people management and leadership skills.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $164000 - $237000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits

• Own efforts to perform compliance activities for a data center and analyze compliance results for data centers globally. Ensure regional and global teams are complying with project/schedule guidelines and Google design standards.
• Lead efforts to monitor data center systems operations, control site activities to minimize risk, and to ensure effective response to any excursions.
• Lead efforts to ensure all sites are following facility, maintenance, and standard programs globally while exhibiting strength in improvement to said policies and programs.
• Own the development of strategies to keep operational costs to a minimum, improve efficiency, and reduce environmental impact at a site, along with driving site-level development of programs and initiatives.
• Incorporate subdomain expertise and experience to enhance data center design to optimize equipment and operations for next generation data centers.
