This position is located in Miami, FL.

Position Overview and Responsibilities

The incumbent supervises, directs, and maintains a building maintenance, security, and service program for the Miami facilities. Responsibilities include managing facility systems such as heating, air conditioning, ventilation, plumbing, electrical, controls, elevators, fire sprinkler systems, and computers. The role involves recommending hiring, performing personnel evaluations, initiating purchase requests, and ensuring safety procedures are followed.

Maintenance Supervisory Duties

  • Supervises and performs preventative and recurring maintenance, inspects facilities, and analyzes issues.
  • Evaluates approaches to meet objectives and implements improvements.
  • Oversees operations, cleaning, repairs, painting, and general maintenance of the facility.
  • Maintains computerized systems for HVAC, security, and emergency power.
  • Oversees custodial and security contract operations, ensuring contractual performance.
  • Coordinates with planning and execution teams, and improves methods.
  • Inspects external systems and keeps abreast of new maintenance techniques.
Administrative/Public Relations Duties

  • Informs supervisors of activities, issues, and upcoming events.
  • Prepares reports, maintains records, and manages requisitions.
  • Conducts weekly inspections of safety equipment and systems.
  • Manages personnel training, performance, and compliance with regulations.
  • Prepares cost estimates for repairs and renovations, reviews specifications.
Procurement Duties

  • Procures labor and materials using appropriate systems and guidelines.
  • Ensures proper approval and funding for purchases.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of maintenance procedures, safety, and construction.
  • Skilled in tool use, problem solving, and applying regulations.
  • Ability to prioritize, manage programs, and communicate effectively.
  • Researches new technology and models behaviors of accountability and teamwork.
Minimum Qualifications

  • At least five years’ experience in facilities management of commercial facilities.
  • Two years’ supervisory experience.
  • Availability for after-hours work, physical ability to perform duties, valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing service contracts and project management in construction.
  • Experience with building automation systems and HVAC/fire alarm systems.
