Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance and repair of properties, water systems, sewer, electrical, security and fire systems, landscaping and signage.
  • Monthly drinking water testing and quarterly testing; daily testing of water onsite.
  • Hire, train, and supervise facility staff; maintain staff schedules.
  • Develop and adjust departmental budgets; manage operating and capital budgets.
  • Oversee bids and contracts; supervise projects related to facilities.
  • Assist parking crew with procedures and guest assistance.
  • Ensure compliance with ADA, DOH, EPA, DOE, OSHA, and local fire codes.
  • Work environment includes weekends/holidays; adherence to safety protocols.

Group/Class: Group II, Hourly/Non-ExemptPay Range: $18.00 - $25.00/hrReports To: Base Operations DirectorSupervises: Facilities, Parking & Cleaning crewStatus: Year RoundCentral Purpose: To enrich the lives of our community by providing joy and freedom through explorationCore Values: Seek first to help - Dedicated to results - Optimism in action - Solution seekersFACILITIES MANAGER JOB SUMMARY:The Facilities Manager is responsible for the overall maintenance, safety, and functionality of Mission Ridge facilities, buildings, grounds, and supporting utility systems. This position oversees facilities staff and contractors while coordinating preventative maintenance, repairs, regulatory testing, and capital improvement projects. The Facilities Manager also manages departmental staffing and budgets, ensures compliance with applicable safety and environmental regulations, and supports daily resort operations as needed. This role requires a hands-on leader with broad knowledge of building trades, facility systems, and year-round mountain operations.ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS:Maintenance and repair of all Mission Ridge properties and associated buildings, water collection, treatment, and distribution-Sewer collection and treatment, Electrical distribution and repair, Security and fire system maintenance, Landscaping and Sign making.Monthly testing of drinking water submitted and quarterly testing of treatment plant submitted to testing agency as well as daily testing of drinking water onsiteInterview, hire, train and supervise any facility staff.Maintain staff schedules to meet operational demands, while ensuring a high level of guest service.Develop and adjust departmental budgets to meet operational needs.Operation & Capital Budgeting for Facilities personnel, supplies and projects.Garbage collection, recycling, building and grounds snow removal, propane dispensation and recording, and general housekeeping.Maintaining said properties within the guidelines as set forth by the city, county, state or federal agencies to include the A.D.A., D.O.H., E.P.A., D.O.E., W.I.S.H.A., O.S.H.A., and adherence to City and County Fire Codes. A Working knowledge of these agencies as it pertains to reporting and adherence to environmental, water, sewer and building issues.Review bids for contract work and oversee projects as it relates to the facilities.Assist parking crew with parking procedures and parking areas; assisting guests with locked vehicles, dead batteries, shuttle services, etc. SKILLS REQUIRED:Preferred background in electrical, carpentry, plumbing, painting, HVAC, concrete, equipment operation, motor controls and all hand tools.Written and verbal command of the English Language.Computer and documentation skills.Must possess a valid and insurable Washington State Drivers License. (CDL recommended)Must be able to work holidays, weekends and nights.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:High School Graduate and minimum of 4 years in construction related field or 2 years College Degree and or 4 years experience in trades.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, reaching, pushing, pulling, and working with hand and power tools. The Facilities Manager must be able to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and, on occasion, assist with heavier items of up to 80 pounds. Work may be performed indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, on uneven terrain, around machinery, and in confined or elevated work areas. The position also requires sufficient vision, hearing, coordination, and manual dexterity to safely inspect facilities, operate equipment, perform repairs, and respond to operational needs.WORK ENVIRONMENT:Mission Ridge is a non-smoking facility. Weekend and holiday work may be required, including extended hours, due to the seasonal nature of the ski industry. Because operations are dependent on weather and seasonality, Mission Ridge is an at-will employer, and all employees may experience reduced hours or layoffs.
