Job description

CoAspire (https://www.coaspire.com) is a cutting-edge defense manufacturing leader in Northern Virginia, specializing in the precision assembly of advanced weapons systems. With over twelve years of a legacy of innovation, we're at the forefront of building reliable, affordable mass weapons that protect and empower our nation’s warfighters. Our tight-knit team thrives in a collaborative environment where safety, quality, and work-life balance come first with a focus on professional growth at our new 27,000+ sq. ft. facility. Join us to make a tangible impact on mission-critical technology while enjoying Northern Virginia's vibrant community.

Position: You will serve as the hands-on Facilities Manager with full responsibility for the day-to-day operations, maintenance, safety, security, and compliance of multiple CoAspire production facilities in Northern VA. You will lead all facilities operations to ensure the site provides a safe, reliable, efficient, and secure environment that supports high-rate production of advanced DoW systems while maintaining strict compliance with all regulatory requirements. This role requires a strong working knowledge of commercial building systems and the ability to personally diagnose issues, direct repairs, and oversee contractors while ensuring minimal disruption to operations. This is a hands-on role that includes performing and/or directly supporting minor facility repairs and maintenance tasks (e.g., lighting, basic plumbing, hardware fixes) in addition to managing vendors and larger systems. This critical role partners closely with production, engineering, IT and executive leadership to minimize downtime and continuously improve facility performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform or directly oversee hands-on troubleshooting of HVAC, electrical distribution, and mechanical systems.
  • Perform and/or oversee minor repairs and general maintenance, including lighting replacement, basic plumbing fixes, door/hardware adjustments, and other routine facility needs.
  • Serve as the primary interface for the company with all building owners, leasing partners and associated points of contact.
  • Lead facility safety programs, ensuring full compliance with OSHA, EPA, fire codes, building regulations, and company safety standards as required.
  • Manage physical security, access control and alarm/monitoring systems in collaboration with IT personnel.
  • Conduct regular facility walkdowns and equipment inspections.
  • Collaborate with leadership to manage facilities budgets, including utilities, maintenance contracts, and vendor services while identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency.
  • Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and service providers for janitorial, landscaping, security, and specialized maintenance services.
  • Support production and engineering teams by optimizing workspace utilization, managing production floor layouts, and responding rapidly to facility-related issues.
  • Develop and maintain emergency response, business continuity, and disaster recovery plans for both locations as required. Support minor repairs and emergency response when needed (after hours as required).

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of facilities management experience, preferably in manufacturing or defense environments.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance best practices, OSHA/EPA regulations, and related operations.
  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving real-time facility issues in operational environments.
  • Proven experience managing budgets, vendors, and multiple facilities or medium—to-large-scale sites.
  • Active or ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret clearance.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or other relevant professional certification.
  • Prior experience working in a defense manufacturing or aerospace environment.
  • Hands-on experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Demonstrated success managing multi-site operations.
