Job summary

Lincoln Tech is seeking a Facilities Manager to lead campus safety and security, developing policies to protect students, staff, and assets while enabling a secure learning environment.

You will supervise maintenance staff, coordinate the budget and procurement, and ensure compliance with state and local codes. A criminal justice or safety background plus project and staff management are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in criminal justice, fire service, or safety and prevention.
• Associates degree in a related field.
• Management experience is required.
• Ability to manage projects and staff.
• Knowledge of state criminal and fire codes and safety programs.
• Understanding of equipment, policies, and procedures for security operations.
• Experience with Word, Excel, and campus safety software.

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance staff and oversee equipment repair and maintenance.
• Detect criminal activity and coordinate with local law enforcement.
• Develop evacuation procedures for emergencies.
• Ensure quarterly safety inspections are completed.
• Inspect hallways, classrooms, and offices for code compliance.
• Assist Campus President with budget matters and procurement.
• Oversee wiring, electrical and plumbing work with contractors as needed.
• Manage maintenance staff or contractors.

Requirements

• 5+years' experience in criminal justice, fire service, or safety and prevention
• Minimum Associates degree in related field
• Minimum3+years management experience
• Ability to manage projects and/or staff
• Well-versed with state criminal and fire codes, and proactive safety and security programs
• Thorough understanding of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations, for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions
• Working knowledge of Word, Excel, and software related to campus safety and security programs

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance staff to:
  • repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand and power tools
  • reassemble equipment
  • perform routine preventive maintenance
  • ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of the building(s) does not deteriorate
• Detect criminal activity and reports appropriate matters to local law enforcement agencies for proper resolution
• Develop and implement proper evacuation procedures, to ensure effective egress of students and staff in the event of an emergency
• Ensure quarterly safety inspections are completed
• See to the inspection of hallways, classrooms and office areas, to ensure compliance with state and local fire and building codes
• Assist the Campus President with budgetary matters, campus procurement, and expenses
• Oversee any assembling, installing and/or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment, in reference to staff or licensed contractors to perform jobs requiring permits
• Manage the maintenance staff or work performed by licensed contractors
