Job summary

NYU Langone Health in New York, NY is seeking a Facilities Manager within the RED+F department to coordinate real estate development and facilities management for off-site clinical operations. The role reports to the Assistant Director, Portfolio Operations, up to Senior Director and Vice President, Real Estate and Housing, and requires extensive healthcare facilities experience.

  • Coordinate interoperable facility systems with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of off-site clinical facilities and manage tenant coordinators and building staff.
  • Maintain high customer satisfaction by responding promptly to end-users' requests and concerns.
  • Build and enforce landlord/tenant relationships and lease provisions as needed.
  • Manage emergencies, coordinate response updates, and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Supervise maintenance of facility infrastructure and equipment per regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with laws, codes, and standards including DOH, The Joint Commission, CMS, etc.
  • Monitor vendor performance, manage work orders, and optimize procurement per RED+F policy.
  • Develop annual budgets for clinical space and stay within approved expenses.
  • Maintain documentation for supplies, vendors, contracts, and projects.
  • Collaborate with Facilities, Environmental Services, MCIT, Security, Design/Construction and Finance.

Position Summary

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Facilities Manager. In this role, the successful candidate within the department of Real Estate Development and Facilities (RED+F), the Facilities Manager, will be responsible for supporting and coordinating all aspects of real estate development and facilities management functions for off-site clinical operations. In this capacity, the Facilities Manager will report directly to the Assistant Director, Portfolio Operations up to the Senior Director, Real Estate and the Vice President, Real Estate and Housing. This position requires experience in facilities operations and management, real estate, budgeting, and project management in a clinical environment.

Job Responsibilities
  • Ensuring coordinated systems interoperability through mutual cooperation with institutional personnel and outside vendors on specific projects.
  • Facility Operations and Maintenance: Managing day to day operations of all clinical off-site facilities, including management of the tenant coordinators and building staff to ensure properties are well-maintained and operated to the standards appropriate to the use.
  • Establishing and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction with the end-users of the clinical space, including responding to requests or concerns in a timely and effective manner
  • Building relationships with landlords in leased space and ensuring appropriate support for tenant issues, enforcing lease provisions and requirements, as appropriate.
  • Managing emergencies that arise with respect to the clinical facilities and coordinating appropriate responses and updates to the end users of the space.
  • Supervising maintenance of facility infrastructure and mechanical equipment and ensuring compliance with all regulations governing such equipment
  • Ensuring properties are managed in compliance with all applicable laws, codes, and standards, including any requirements of third-party regulators such as DOH, The Joint Commission, CMS, and others.
  • Monitoring vendor maintenance responsiveness and overall performance, tracking maintenance calls through work order management system, following the RED&F procurement policy and procedures for all outside vendors and negotiate the best pricing possible.
  • Developing annual budgets for space in the clinical portfolio and ensuring that each property is managed within the approved expense budgets.
  • Maintaining appropriate documentation and records related to all supplies, vendors, contracts, and project work, and communication.
  • Interfacing and supporting other departments in the Medical Center including Facilities, Environmental Services, MCIT, Security, Design/Construction and Finance.
  • Participating in special projects and performing other duties as required.
  • Assisting Project Managers in the implementation of complex upgrades and installations, providing project management and/or technical consulting on complex projects.
  • Coordinating other capital projects, renovations, and equipment installations with RED+F project managers.
  • Coordinating project requirements for shutdowns, tie-ins, and contractor access.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 10 years' relevant, full-time experience in facilities management, real estate, planning and project management in the field of healthcare, life sciences, or a related area.
  • Strong planning and management experience, oral and written presentation skills, and highly-developed communication skills

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $101,493.51 - $112,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
