Compensation: Approximately $76,000 - $100,000 annually. All individual pay rates are calculated based on the candidate's experience and internal equity.
Overview of Role:You will lead and support the Facilities department through ensuring preventative maintenance, and the functioning of all building systems including mechanical, electrical, fire/life safety, plumbing, and waste management. You will provide daily leadership for the department, and you are the liaison between external vendors and each site. This is a working manager position that requires both managerial and direct maintenance work.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
You will:
- Ensure compliance with all life safety codes relative to ambulatory medical, dental, and behavioral health care standards as required by AAAHC, CDPHE, HRSA, ADA, OSHA, EPA, BHA, and NFPA.
- Lead and mentor a diverse team of professionals, promoting a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and professional growth.
- Maintain the computerized maintenance system for all building systems and properties to ensure timely completion of daily work requests.
- Support the construction projects, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance always.
- Works in conjunction with the Procurement Department ensure all elements of service contracts are provided by vendors.
- Help maintain and manage vendors for all building services, construction services, and life/safety services.
- Foster and build strong relationships with all stakeholders at CFHW
- Demonstrate ability to mediate and resolve interpersonal, team and clinic-wide conflicts.
- Use effective strategies and resources to recruit, select, recognize, and retain staff. Uses performance appraisal process to coach, counsel and evaluate employee performance in a respectful and timely manner.
- Ensures that team members have all necessary resources including supplies, equipment, training, certifications, and procedures, etc.
- Represents CFHW on various committees or workgroups as assigned to develop and implement facility changes.
- Creates an environment that promotes efficiency, service and safety.
- Encourages others to identify opportunities for improvement and participate in improvement initiatives.
- identifies various stages of resistance and removes barriers to change.
- Effectively interprets situations and information before deciding the course of action.
- Bases decisions on available facts, constraints, and probable consequences.
- Ability to assess safety of staff and clients on all tasks and projects then makes other potential recommendations to accomplish requested need.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma/GED and minimum of 5 years’ experience.
- A bachelor’s degree in technical field such as engineering, construction/project management preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of building maintenance experience and facility management experience.
- Medical and/or dental facility management experience strongly preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of team/department leadership experience.
- Professional Designation, Licensure, or certification
- CO licensed electrician or plumber or HVAC-certified
- Eligibility for CHFM (Certified Healthcare Facility Manager – org/career-resources/certification-center/chfm) certification or similar health facilities certification.
- Project Management certification
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Advanced knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, electrical, mechanical skills, and general construction.
- Must be well-versed in all aspects of facility trades and safety codes.
- Flexible with ability to flourish in a team management system.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks at one time.
- Exceptional problem solving and organizational skills.
- Must possess good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate vision and overall direction for the Facility Team that are aligned with CFHW goals.
Driving Requirements:
- Must be insurable by CFHW’s automobile insurance carrier.
- Must have and maintain valid Colorado driver’s license.
- Must have at least Colorado minimum required personal auto insurance.
- Must be able to effectively pull trailer-hitched equipment and flatbed trailers.
- Must have dependable personal vehicle for transportation between site locations.
