Job summary

Ayr Wellness in Gainesville, FL is seeking a Facilities Manager to lead maintenance, safety, and reliability of the facility. Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will own the maintenance systems, manage the budget, and drive CapEx initiatives to align facility performance with business goals.

The ideal candidate has 7–10 years in facilities management, experience with regulated manufacturing, strong contractor leadership, and CMMS (MaintainX preferred) and project budgeting.

Qualifications

• Own and manage the facility safety environment and maintenance department.
• Collaborate with National Leaders on strategic maintenance direction.
• Oversee contractor projects, major construction, and CapEx initiatives.
• Manage full maintenance budget including forecasting and cost control.
• Lead hiring, development, and performance management of the maintenance team.
• Establish SOPs and preventive maintenance programs for all equipment.
• Maintain asset records and integrity in MaintainX.
• Ensure facilities meet safety, cleanliness, and regulatory standards.
• Drive continuous improvement to boost facility efficiency.
• Serve as after-hours escalation for facility breakdowns.

• Ensure all work areas meet safety, cleanliness, and regulatory standards.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to eliminate waste and improve facility efficiency.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for facility breakdowns after hours, on weekends, and holidays.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

The Facilities Manager is a strategic leadership role responsible for the overall maintenance management, safety environment, and performance of the facility. Reporting to the Director of Operations, this role owns the facility’s systems, infrastructure, execution of capital investment strategy, managing contractor major projects, and the broader operational framework that enables the team to execute.

The Facilities Manager executes the expected standards for maintenance, manages the maintenance budget, leads the maintenance team, and partners with the Director of Operations to ensure facility systems meet requirements that allow align facility performance with business goals.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Own and manage the overall safety environment for the facility, facility grounds, and safety for the maintenance department.

Qualifications

• Strong working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Proven experience managing contractors, construction projects, and capital expenditures.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
• Experience managing budgets and driving financial performance.
• Project management experience is required.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Equivalent combination of work and education experience accepted.

Experience

• 7–10 years of facilities management experience, preferably in agriculture, biotech, cannabis, or regulated manufacturing.
• Demonstrated experience managing contractors and major capital projects.
• Experience with CMMS/work order systems (MaintainX preferred).

Working Conditions

This person may be exposed to dust, kief, cleaning chemicals, and fumes. Although systems are in place to remove these byproducts, there is still exposure to some degree.

Physical Requirements

• Sitting, standing, and walking motion/movement required throughout the shift.
• Frequently ascends/descends a ladder and uses scissor lift to inspect/maintain equipment.
• Occasionally works in outside conditions including exposure to inclement weather, heat, and humidity.
• Occasional lifting, positioning, or moving items up to 100 pounds.
