Job summary

Velo3D is seeking a highly organized Facilities Manager to oversee maintenance, operation, and continuous improvement of our facilities. This individual contributor role ensures building systems operate safely and efficiently, while managing vendors and coordinating projects.

You will support capital projects, office moves, and ensure regulatory compliance across EH&S and fire/life safety standards. A proactive, detail-oriented professional will thrive in this role.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in facilities management or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical and life-safety systems.
  • Understanding of fire/life safety systems, preventive maintenance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to read electrical, mechanical, plumbing drawings and technical docs.
  • Experience managing vendors, contractors and service agreements.
  • Strong project coordination and organizational skills; ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; CMMS experience preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel between locations if required.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate preventive maintenance programs and monitor systems to maximize reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot facility issues and coordinate repairs with internal and external teams.
  • Manage relationships with vendors and contractors (janitorial, landscaping, security, maintenance providers).
  • Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and replacement parts; procure materials as needed.
  • Conduct regular facility inspections and equipment audits for readiness.
  • Plan and coordinate office moves, space reconfigurations, and improvement projects with minimal disruption.
  • Support capital projects and new construction initiatives with leadership.
  • Coordinate construction activities to ensure safety, schedule, and budget adherence.
  • Maintain maintenance records, work orders, equipment docs, and regulatory compliance docs.
  • Ensure compliance with EH&S, OSHA, fire/life safety, and security policies.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce costs and extend asset life.
  • Respond to facility emergencies and coordinate corrective actions.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and hands-on Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance, operation, and continuous improvement of our facilities. This individual contributor role is responsible for ensuring all building systems, including HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and life safety systems—operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable regulations.

The Facilities Manager will drive facility maintenance, manage vendors and contractors, oversee facility-related projects, support office moves, and maintain a safe, clean, and functional work environment for employees and visitors.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and repair of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and life safety systems.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance programs and monitor building systems to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot facility issues and coordinate repairs with internal stakeholders and external service providers.
  • Manage relationships with vendors and contractors, including janitorial, landscaping, security, and specialized maintenance providers.
  • Maintain an appropriate inventory of maintenance supplies, equipment, and replacement parts; procure materials as needed.
  • Conduct regular facility inspections and equipment audits to identify maintenance needs and ensure operational readiness.
  • Plan and coordinate office moves, space reconfigurations, and facility improvement projects with minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Partner with the Director of Operations/Facilities to support capital projects, renovations, and new construction initiatives.
  • Coordinate construction and contractor activities to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, equipment documentation, and regulatory compliance records.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, including Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S), OSHA requirements, fire/life safety standards, and company security policies.
  • Identify opportunities to improve facility operations, reduce operating costs, and extend the life of building assets.
  • Respond to facility emergencies and coordinate appropriate corrective actions.
Qualifications
Required
  • 6+ years of experience in facilities management, building operations, or a related field.
  • Strong working knowledge of commercial building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and building automation systems.
  • Understanding of fire/life safety systems, preventive maintenance practices, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and construction drawings and technical documentation.
  • Experience managing vendors, contractors, and service agreements.
  • Strong project coordination and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively with employees, contractors, and leadership.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to travel between company locations, if required.
Desired
  • OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety training.
  • Experience supporting office renovations, tenant improvements, or capital projects.
  • Experience with budgeting, vendor management, and contract administration.
  • Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or Facilities Management Professional (FMP) certification is a plus.

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting base salary for this full-time position is between $110,000 and $130,000. This salary range reflects the minimum and maximum target for this position in the U.S. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as work experience, job-related skills, related education, work location, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. In addition to a competitive base salary and a comprehensive benefits package, this position may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and equity program, as applicable.
