Job summary

Spectrum High School in Elk River, MN is seeking a full-time facilities manager to oversee the cleaning, maintenance, and safe operation of all school facilities and equipment. This role reports to the Facilities Director and may supervise custodians, maintenance staff, student workers, volunteers, and others, coordinating duties and ensuring events run smoothly during the day, evenings, and weekends.

A strong work ethic and hands-on capability are required to maintain a safe, welcoming school

• Ability to perform hands-on custodial and maintenance duties.
• Ability to coordinate with other facilities staff.

Responsibilities

• Oversee cleaning and maintenance of all Spectrum facilities and equipment.
• Set up and tear down at all school events.
• Lead and supervise custodians, maintenance staff, student workers and volunteers.
• Ensure safety, cleanliness and security during the school day and events.

Job description

Spectrum Middle and High School (Spectrum) is a 1,000 student college-prep public school serving students and families since 2007.

We serve students in grades 5-12 in three buildings located in Elk River, MN. In addition, Spectrum owns and maintains a 50 acre athletic completex located around 1 1/2 miles from the school campus.

We are seeking a full-time facilities manager. This position reports to the Facilities Director. This position works with the Facilities Director to oversee the efficient cleaning and maintenance of all Spectrum facilities and equipment, as well as the set-up/tear down at all events. The position may supervise custodians, maintenance staff, student workers, volunteers, and others. The position is responsible for performing a variety of duties to maintain a safe, clean, and secure environment during the school day and events held during or after school in the evening and/or on weekends. This position must be able to perform hands on custodial and/or maintenance duties coordinate duties with other custodians and maintenance staff, and perform effective leadership as a supervisor.
