Job summary

The Homeless and Housing Resource Center seeks a Facilities Manager to ensure buildings and grounds are well-maintained, overseeing maintenance, repairs, renovations, and vendor coordination. You will drive preventative maintenance programs, respond to urgent needs on a 24-7 basis, and ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards.

You will coordinate with the Director of Operations and Program Director on facility activity, manage budgets, and lead documentation of emergency

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of maintenance, facilities, or hands-on work experience required.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and ability to apply requirements to daily operations.
  • Must be available on an on-call, 24-7 basis to promptly resolve urgent needs.

Job description

The Facilities Manager is responsible for ensuring that buildings and grounds are maintained, which includes determining, scheduling, and overseeing regular maintenance, repairs, and renovation projects. This position negotiates with outside vendors for supplies, parts, equipment, and repairs.

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose facility issues.
  • Oversees building projects, maintenance, and repair of all facility systems, assets, and site improvements, including building, parking areas, HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, utilities, and infrastructure systems.
  • Manages all preventative maintenance.
  • Coordinates with the Director of Operations and Program Director all facility activity in respective buildings.
  • Guides operations on basic upkeep and maintenance tasks, repair/replacement decisions, as well as vendor contact and oversight.
  • Develops and maintains written emergency procedures.
  • Responds to calls on a 24-7 basis to promptly resolve urgent needs of facilities.
  • Evaluates conditions and identifies potential issues, repairs, and facility projects.
  • Ensures the facilities meet regulations and environmental, health, and security standards.
  • All other duties as assigned.

  • Demonstrated ability to adhere to the agency budget.

Education and/or Experience:
  • 5+ years of maintenance, facilities, or hands-on work experience is required.
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related field is preferred.
  • Requires a hands-on, self-starter that has a clear aptitude for systems, mechanics, and structural components of commercial buildings, infrastructure, and maintenance; includes utilities, HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
  • Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be available on an on-call, 24-7 basis to promptly resolve urgent needs of the facilities.
  • Must be detail-oriented and well-organized.
Other Requirements:
  • Valid New Mexico driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Must be willing to participate in workshops and training sessions.
  • Lifting a maximum of 50 pounds occasionally, and frequently lifting or carrying objects weighing
  • up to 10 pounds.
  • Must become CPR/First Aid trained within 90 days of hire.
  • Participate in De-escalation Training within 90 days of hire.
