Johnson & Johnson MedTech in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a Facilities Management Co-op for Jan–July 2027. The role is full-time (40 hours weekly) at the Cincinnati (Blue Ash) Campus, supporting E&PS projects in a GMP/R&D setting.

You will gain hands-on experience in facilities engineering, maintenance, and capital projects, with exposure to critical infrastructure and sustainability initiatives, while collaborating with Quality, EHS, Ops, IT, and Finance teams.

Qualifications

  • Completion of Undergrad Freshman year is required.
  • Freshman year completion and pursuit of a bachelor’s in Engineering or related field.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain site master plans and facility improvements.
  • Update building drawings and utility maps using AutoCAD.
  • Assist with capital project planning, execution, and tracking.
  • Participate in infrastructure assessments (HVAC, electrical, etc.).
  • Attend meetings, document minutes, track actions, and follow up.
  • Coordinate vendors, oversee contractors, and lead improvement projects.
  • Support GxP documentation, change controls, and maintenance records.
  • Contribute to sustainability and decarbonization initiatives.
  • Prepare presentations on project status and recommendations.
  • Support campus planning, space optimization, and workplace initiatives.

At Engineering & Property Services (E&PS) we take care of all J&J buildings around the world providing end-to-end services from Real Estate, Engineering & Strategic Project Delivery to Facilities Management. The Facilities Management Co-op will support the Engineering & Property Services (E&PS) team at the Cincinnati (Blue Ash) Campus, a Research and Development (R&D) facility that supports the research and development of J&J Med Tech surgical devices. The Co-op will gain hands‑on experience in facilities engineering, maintenance, capital projects, workplace services, and compliance-driven operations within R&D and GxP-regulated environments. The role offers exposure to critical infrastructure systems, facility improvement projects, and day‑to‑day site operations that directly support J&J Med Tech surgical products.

You Will Be Responsible
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of site master plans and facility improvement initiatives.
  • Update and maintain building drawings, utility maps, and facility documentation using AutoCAD.
  • Support facilities and engineering teams with capital project planning, execution, and project tracking.
  • Participate in infrastructure assessments involving HVAC, refrigeration, fire protection, electrical, and building systems.
  • Attend project meetings, document meeting minutes, track action items, and support follow‑up activities.
  • Assist with vendor coordination, contractor oversight, and workplace improvement projects.
  • Support GxP documentation activities including change controls, preventive maintenance records, qualification support, and facility documentation.
  • Contribute to sustainability and decarbonization initiatives and other continuous improvement projects.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations summarizing project status, recommendations, and key findings.
  • Support strategic campus planning, space optimization, infrastructure renewal, workplace experience initiatives, and sustainability projects.

Qualifications / Requirements
  • Completion of Undergraduate Freshman year at an accredited University is required.
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Aero/Mechanical/Electrical/Civil/Etc.), Facilities Management, Architecture, Construction, Management, Engineering Technology, or related fields.
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, which is reflective of all college coursework.
  • You must not have any Summer Internship contract or other employment commitment that could interfere with the contract dates specified for this position.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
Preferred
  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar design software.
  • Previous internship, co‑op, or project experience in engineering, facilities management, maintenance, or construction.
  • Interest in facility systems, sustainability, energy management, or operations.
  • Experience developing dashboards, reports, or data analytics solutions.

Pay Transparency

The expected pay range for this position is between $23.50 per hour and $52.50 per hour but will be based on candidate’s program year, discipline, degree and/or experience. Co‑Ops/Interns are eligible to participate in Company sponsored employee medical benefits in accordance with the terms of the plan. Co‑Ops and Interns are eligible for the following sick time benefits: up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington, up to 56 hours per calendar year. Co‑Ops and Interns are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension).
