Job Description

Summary: Repairs and maintains machinery and equipment such as electrical systems, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment by performing the following duties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with all procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Support operations departments and facility, ensuring equipment safety, availability and reliability.
  • Utilize necessary tools, instruments, and senses to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair production equipment including electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Proactively identify sources of operating difficulties and collaborate with the maintenance engineer to develop and implement the process or equipment changes.
  • Install and modify production and facilities equipment, using layouts, diagrams, schematics, etc.
  • Have a working knowledge and thorough understanding of plant systems, infrastructure and utilities.
  • Utilize drawings and schematics to complete machine assemblies as well as trouble shoot existing systems.
  • Utilize an advanced understanding of machine controls to troubleshoot and repair existing systems, review existing logic for issues and collaborate with controls engineer to correct.
  • Identify and request replacement parts and equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, repair, and project work orders as assigned, using required and approved processes. Processes include, but are not limited to, safety, equipment and materials.
  • Perform repair work using fabrication skills, including manual machine shop equipment including but not limited to lathes, end mills, welding and soldering equipment, plasma cutter, sheet metal brake and band saw.
  • Maintains continuity among maintenance department by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs between individuals and shifts.
  • Complete facilities project work as assigned. This may include, but not be limited to, evaluating and planning the required work, ordering material and execution of the work.
  • Mentor and train lower level maintenance personnel in the advancement of their knowledge as it pertains to facilities maintenance.
  • Work effectively with limited supervision.
  • Communicate and perform effectively, both independently and in a team environment.
  • Completes all required paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school in maintenance related field and a minimum of five (5) years related experience preferred. Electrical license preferred.
  • Associate must not have been removed from or voluntarily stepped down from a bid in the preceding 12 months.
  • Associates can have no written disciplinary warnings within six (6) months of the posting date.
  • Associates cannot have less than 16 UTO hours.
  • Associate must meet all minimum qualifications outlined on the job bid.
  • Associates selected will receive the necessary training to perform the requirements of this position, to include processes and computer requirements.
  • A 90-day probationary period applies to all job postings.

Additional Information Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $72,820 USD - $84,656 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
