Job summary

Helpmates Staffing Services seeks a Facilities Maintenance Technician IV – Lead in Irvine, CA to guide maintenance of complex facility systems, including deionized water generation, filtration, and purification. You will mentor technicians, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, and ensure GMP-compliant operation.

The role requires 6+ years in industrial facilities maintenance (or 5+ with an Associate degree) and CMMS experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 6 years of industrial facilities maintenance experience, or an Associate degree with 5+ years of related experience.
• Hands-on experience maintaining deionized water generation, purification, and filtration systems.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, and utility systems.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and technical drawings.
• Experience using CMMS for maintenance documentation.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to mentor others.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical lead and subject matter expert for facility maintenance activities.
• Provide guidance, mentorship, and knowledge sharing to maintenance technicians.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair deionized water generation, purification, and filtration systems to ensure reliable operation and high water quality.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment such as HVAC systems, steam boilers, water systems, and electrical components.
• Read schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals for troubleshooting and repairs.
• Diagnose issues with pumps, valves, piping, pressure vessels, filters, and related equipment.
• Document maintenance activities and equipment logs in CMMS systems, ensuring compliance with GMP or other regulated standards.
• Support manufacturing operations by minimizing downtime and ensuring facility systems are operational.
• Participate in facility improvement projects, contractor coordination, and system upgrades.
