Job summary

CoreCivic is seeking a Maintenance Worker to install, maintain, and repair facility structures and systems in a secure environment. The role covers plumbing, electrical work, machinery, equipment, electronics, vehicles, and grounds, with a focus on safe operations and preventive maintenance.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, at least two years in general maintenance or construction, a valid driver's license, and the ability to supervise inmates assigned to the Maintenance

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent required.
• Two years of general maintenance or construction experience required.
• Equivalent technical/trade school courses may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.
• Knowledge of building construction and operation of building systems preferred.
• Valid driver's license required; minimum age 21.

Responsibilities

• Maintain/repair physical structure of facility in keeping with safe/secure operations.
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair machines and equipment.
• Install/repair electrical apparatus such as wiring or electronic components of machinery/equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment according to the preventative maintenance plan.
• Provide proper supervision and tracking of inmates/residents assigned to Maintenance Department.
