Job summary

Humboldt Senior Resource Center in Eureka, CA is seeking a Facility Maintenance Technician to support safe, efficient operation of HSRC facilities and grounds. This full‑time, day shift role requires a high school diploma or GED, plus two years in facilities or custodial work. Travel to HSRC sites is expected, with on‑call support as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two (2) years of experience in facilities or building maintenance and custodial work/grounds keeping preferred.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or general carpentry required.
• Experience in medical and/or commercial food service settings preferred.
• Experience with maintaining floors (stripping, waxing, buffing, carpet cleaning) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs day‑to‑day inspection, maintenance, and repair of non‑medical equipment and systems; escalates issues as needed.
• Uses work order software to check, complete, and document maintenance requests and coordinate with staff.
• Carries out preventative maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and other systems; tests safety equipment and alarms.
• Serves as building security representative; investigates security concerns and coordinates with law enforcement as needed.
• Maintains on‑site storage areas and oversees vendor work for facility operations and repairs.
• Ensures OSHA, ADA, fire safety, and regulatory compliance; maintains manuals and Safety Data Sheets.
