Job summary

Life Center of Galax is seeking a maintenance-focused individual to perform routine and specific maintenance services, including grounds work, to support recovery services. The role offers competitive hourly pay and a broad benefits package, with a negotiable hourly rate based on experience and education.

Responsibilities include general facility maintenance, emergency back-up support, safe operation of tools, and preventive maintenance inspections of plumbing, power systems, and fire safety

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in maintenance or facility operations.
• Knowledge of standard practices, procedures and tools in general building/maintenance trades.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repair to facility and equipment with plumbing, carpentry, painting and mechanical repair.
• Act as back-up for call person in case of emergency, respond timely and appropriately.
• Handle equipment safely and demonstrate knowledge of tools and their safe use.
• Operate a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Follow preventive maintenance schedules and complete reports as requested.
• Inspect and maintain emergency power equipment, generator weekly, and fire alarm system and extinguishers.
• Inspect and maintain plumbing systems, faucets, toilets, urinals, drains, and fixtures; repair furniture as needed.
