Job summary

Fairstead is seeking a Maintenance Technician to sustain day-to-day operations and protect the property assets across our communities. You will inspect, maintain, and repair building systems, respond to safety concerns, and prepare vacated units for new residents in a timely manner.

Ideal candidates bring mechanical and electrical skills, strong communication, and a hands-on maintenance mindset. HVAC certification is preferred, and the role may involve on-call responsibilities and physical

Qualifications

• Mechanical skills to perform minor repairs and fixture work.
• Electrical knowledge to diagnose problems and carry out minor repairs.
• General maintenance capabilities across building systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication for reporting and coordination.
• Prior experience as a Service Technician or in a similar role.
• HVAC certification preferred (CMRP a plus).
• Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 70 lbs.
• Dexterity and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Inspect buildings and equipment regularly for needed repairs and improvements.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Implement maintenance policies to prevent misuse of property appliances.
• Ensure properties are safe for occupants, visitors, and workers.
• Clean and prepare vacated buildings for new occupants.
• Check electrical wiring for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Inspect safety systems monthly for operational effectiveness.
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to emergency maintenance outside normal hours.
• Maintain inventory of supplies, tools, and equipment.
