City of Port St. Lucie is seeking an entry-level Facilities Maintenance Worker I. The role involves learning City procedures while performing routine maintenance, repairs, and site upkeep with supervision.

A starting hourly rate of $22.28–$25.62 applies, with drug screening required. Responsibilities include carpentry, plumbing, electrical tasks, equipment maintenance, and completing Work Orders while tracking data electronically.

Qualifications

• Requires 3+ years of relevant maintenance experience in construction, repairs and site work.
• Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent is required.
• Valid driver's license with ability to obtain Florida license within 30 days.
• FDLE-CJIS Certification required for employment; CJIS status must be maintained.

Responsibilities

• Support general building maintenance including carpentry, plumbing, electrical and grounds work.
• Assist with repairs and replacements of fixtures, doors, flooring, and glass.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment and systems.
• Enter Work Order data electronically and respond to emails as needed.
• Oversee contractors and procure materials as required.
• Maintain clean, safe shop and tools; keep accurate records of work performed.
