Job summary

ISS Guckenheimer is seeking an Engineer I to perform routine maintenance, respond to service requests, and keep building systems safe and operational under supervision.

The role requires basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems, the ability to read blueprints, and strong customer service in a commercial facilities team. Work hours may include varied shifts and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1-3 years of commercial building maintenance experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to safely use common hand and power tools.
• Ability to read and understand basic blueprints, equipment manuals, and technical instructions.
• Basic experience troubleshooting commercial building equipment.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to learn new building systems, equipment, and maintenance procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC equipment.
• Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Troubleshoot basic building equipment and system issues.
• Complete general building repairs (lighting, doors, ceilings, flooring, plumbing fixtures).
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and update work orders using the CMMS.
• Assist higher-level Engineers with larger repairs and projects.
• Maintain clean mechanical rooms and workspaces.
• Participate in emergency response activities as needed.
